Air Quality (dust) is an invisible threat to Data Centers, server rooms, equipment rooms, telecom shelters, ... Haze due to forest fires or fossile fuels is a common source of dust particles. Typically airconditioning units can purify the air but when high peaks of pollution are reached, then they may no longer cope. Dust deposits on circuit boards and can damage it. This may result in permanent loss of IT equipment such as servers, network and storage systems.
Standards like ASHRAE TC9 and ISO 14644 require the air quality to be maintained in a data center. To monitor the threat of dust particles, we developed a unique optical dust meter probe that continously monitors the number of dust particles. For increased accuracy, multiple sensors have to be deployed in the room as the sensor only monitors the particles flowing through it.
This sensor requires a Sensorgateway with a serial number starting with SGW2014 or SGW2015
- Range: 0 – 0.5 mg/m³
- Sensitivity: 0.5V / 0.1 mg/m3
- Measurement mechanism: Optical
- Application: airconditioning systems, air purifying functions, air quality monitor, ventilation systems
Do not use this device for a fire alarm application or in environments where accuracy is critical. For increased accuracy, consider deploying multiple sensors
- Operating temperature range: 0ºC to +75ºC (32ºF to +167ºF) in PoE mode
- Operating humidity range: < 90% rH (non-condensating)
- Dimensions: 74 mm (2.9") x 66 mm (2.59") x 22 mm (0.8")
- Housing: Orange metal case with status led
- The sensor probe connects to and is managed through the connected SensorGateway (v5) Communication -protocols to probe through SensorGateway: SNMPv2,v3 and HTTP
- Connects via regular straight RJ45 cable to the SensorGateway. Maxmimum distance between probe and SensorGateway is 10m/33ft
