Not only temperature affects systems performance but also humidity can cause rapid deterioration of systems. Monitoring humidity in a data center is as important as monitoring temperature! Too low humidity may result in ESD causing immediate permant equipment damage. Too high humidity could create corrosion on components, a slow and often irrevirsible process.
ServersCheck offers a low cost PoE & SNMP ethernet based sensor for monitoring not only humidity but also temperature 24x7. This sensor measures the relative humidity (0 and 100 % RH) and temperature (-40 C and +75 C, -40 F to +167 F) with improved resolution. This sensor is designed to monitor conditions in server rooms and other sensitive area's. You get 2 temperature sensors: one, non-calibrated, built-in into the SensorGateway and one inside the external probe. Humidity reading is done through the external probe.
